When I was a kid, I enjoyed listening to this song and thought it was nice.
Who else here in October 2020?
Anyone else here that line “I could be someone, be someone, be someone.
I remember my mom listening to this in the 80's , when I was just a kid, crying. Here I am, 32+ yrs on, crying.
The more new songs come out the more I listen to old music
Imagine just being able to show up with nothing but your guitar and yourself and perform at this caliber. Wow.
The people that disliked this song were probably mad it was over.
You got a fast car
tracy doesn’t get the recognition for just how talented she is
The best is how the crowed is just listening. Not being loud . As you hit them with a powerful message
Who are here in 2020 listening to this amazing song 32 years later?

Folks, if Tracy had stopped at this song she would have been a legend. It's that good. But no, she went on to write a whole lot of other great songs that will rip your heart straight out.
One of the best. Nailed this performance chilling in a baggy tshirt. Today's artists could never even get close.
As former heroin addict who struggled with reality for 12 years, I’ll never forget when I heard this song for the first time in 2012 and it changed me forever! Everyday I woke up disappointed because I didn’t want to live and I couldn’t kill myself so I just destroyed my body with drugs. When I listened to this song I put it all down and chose to live for something better. 8 and a half years later I had a few slips but I’m now employed and starting my career in hospitality management 3 years sober on may 3rd 2020. My point being music changed my life for the better something no therapist or pill could ever do. Tracy Chapman you’ll always hold a special place in my heart thank you from the bottom of my heart
Believe me when I tell you that great music like this is still being made these days in homes, in apartment buildings, and backwater sheds.
Never get tired of hearing this masterpiece. She's a true artist....
This song ages like wine it just gets better and better!
I’m just amazed she was able to sing this without tearing up a little bit...Because I sure as hell can’t. I’m a grown man and I never cry, but there’s something about this song along with a couple others that just bring emotion out of me. Thanks for making me feel human Tracy!
